About the studio

The studio works in small batches, which means most pieces exist in runs of two or three. What comes out of a firing is decided as much by the kiln as by the hand — ash settles unevenly, iron freckles through a white glaze, a foot pulls slightly as it cools.

Everything is thrown on the wheel in stoneware, glazed by dipping, and fired to 1260°C. Pieces are made to be used daily: most go in the dishwasher, and the ones that do not say so on their page.

New work is listed here as it comes out of the kiln. When a piece sells, it is usually gone for good.
